I’m currently reading How to Influence People and Win friends by Dale Carnegie (a book that I highly recommend) and Carnegie inserted this poem in the book that reaffirmed how powerful smiles are.
Smile by Luwi Habte
It coasts nothing, but creates much.
It enriches those who receive without impoverishing those who gave
It happens in a flash, and the memory of it sometimes lasts forever
No one are so rich they can get along without it, and no one so poor but are richer for its benefits.
It creates happiness in the home, fosters good will in a business, and is the countersign of friends.
It rests to the weary, day light to the discourage sunshine to the sad, and nature`s best antidote for trouble.
Yet it can`t be brought, begged, borrowed or stolen, for it is something that is no earthly good to anybody till it is given away.
How often do you smile?
Do you give infinite smiles or do you hoard them?
